In this fast paced busy world, we have people to
meet, places to go, things to do. Where does God fit into the picture? Does He
care? Should we care about Him? What does it take for you to move toward God or
to move away from Him? Does God really care about you? We will take a practical
look at God's movement toward us because He does care.
Elder William Miller is the first speaker of
the conference, and will speak to us Thursday evening. Elder Miller is a Pastor and Church Administrator. Currently, he is the President of the Minnesota Conference of
the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Throughout the ages, from many major disasters comes the human cry, “Does God Care?” From the word of God, we find these words, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that Johns 3:16. As we visit Calvary and stand at the foot of the cross, whosoever believeth in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life.” Looking up at the Son of God there is written all over His bruised body, “God Cares”. Elder McCarthy will speak to us on Friday afternoon and Saturday Morning. He is a Pastor and Church Administrator, currently serving as Assistant to the President for Regional Affairs for the North Pacific Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He also directs the departments of Youth, Human Relations, Multicultural Ministries, Prison Ministries, and Family Life.
God cared enough that He provided a Whole Person Health to His children at the time of creation. The Whole Person Health has four principles: physical health, mental health, social health and spiritual health. During this conference, we will expand on the Whole Person Health concept and touch on few basic and simple ways of living a healthy life. Dr. Esaias Giorgis is a practicing physician at the Florida Hospital Health Care System, Orlando, Florida. He will address these issues on Friday evening and Saturday at noon, followed by question-answer session on Saturday evening.
God who cared for the Israelites and delivered them from the hands of
the Pharaohs and Babylonians is willing to deliver us from our spiritual and
physical Pharaohs and Babylon. God calls us to repent our sins, ask for
forgiveness, and allow Him to lead us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9. Pastor Ashenaffi
Wodesso will speak on Friday
evening. He is a Pastor and Educator, currently serving as a Senior Pastor at
the Portland Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Portland, Oregon.
Did you ever get the feeling that nobody really cares about you? Not even yourself? Who cares about my fears concerning my health, my job, my future, my frustrations, my "blues," my failures? Will any of my friends see me, the real, lonely, faulty, happy-sad, seeking, striving, hoping me? Is there anyone who cares? Yes, there is a real friend who cares. And that friend is God, who is the foundation of our life. Dr. Kebede Daka will bring us this message on Saturday at noon. Dr. Daka is a Pastor, Counselor, and Educator from the University Seventh-Day Adventist Church in East Lansing, Michigan.
God invites each and every one of us to willfully accept His Life and Disaster Insurance Policy as a precondition to be cared for. Whether or not our concerns are spiritual or social by nature, accepting God’s Insurance Policy is the remedy to our loud cry “Does God Care?” Pastor Alaka Anota will speak to us on Saturday evening. He is a Pastor and Educator, currently serving as Youth Pastor at the Portland Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Portland, Oregon.
